The Good Goodbye

Coming back, I don't do that often
To close the door that I had left open
With hopes a bit, not much but little
No more after I let all these dust settle

There won't be any looking back now
Nor eyes laid upon winding trails ahead
Burying all memories underneath
Decide to move on in life, unafraid.

There is still quite a time till I go away
But inside I feel tis perfect time to say
With tides in my heart not too high
Everything is good about this g'bye!

Please Stay Gone

There wasn't a day I didn't miss you
Or didn't pray for you with the Lord
Far I have come from those days now
As now you ain't even in my thought

You hold on things so long that it's
Hard to let go & move once it's gone
But that is what life is about, they say
Everything easier said than its done

I'll make sure my life's on track again
And show the world how it is done
Don't ever doubt that I will change
Once you leave, you better stay gone.

You're Not Welcome

Things that I had to say to you
Most I did and there remains few
Dreams I dreamt for both of us
Are dreams now on I won't pursue

It's too long a journey I have made
Far far away from home I have come
Courage to turn back I still do have
And make it back home, days some

It was all mind games for you though
Unaware where did you learn it from
I ain't playing on your terms anymore
In my life you're absolutely not welcome!

Gates Of The Arctic

You recite a whole book,
But she utters just a single word,
Only she knows what's on her head,
I bet, no not, not even the lordy Lord!

I am an idiot who doesn't care much
And say what I feel or need to say
She dismisses everything outright
Says, I ain't like that, nope, no way!

You know it all about me, she says
Everything that is there to be known
Then why do I feel every time I talk
I'm seeing a side previously unknown?

It's not that I doubt you but then
As a human I got to make my call
I guess I know you just a little bit
Yes just a little bit, not much at all.

Wonder If I Am Missed

No houses, no trees, no creatures
Just piles of snow & wind thundering
Out there in the middle of nowhere
Lucky you're if you'd find a single being

That's what it is for all those out there
Only long lonely road who have seen
Nature's splendor & amazing people
A paradise, for those who've ever been

It wasn't a love at first sight for me
Took a while though to get the beat
Soon I got to know the folks around
It became my second home, I repeat

Far far away in my home here I am
I'll be back if He grants what I wished
I miss everything about the Old West
But then I, I wonder if I am missed?

Blue Ain't The New Green

I don't wait under that jacaranda tree
Neither do I lay my eyes on the road
I don't have urge to imitate you now
Stopped drinking black tea in abode!

My eyes won't gaze around anymore
Desperate to find myself yet again
I don't care if the sun shines or not
I find solace in this unseasonal rain.

Silence will prevail from this day on
Nothing about me ever heard or said
You're aware I have been here before
So used that, I'll live through unafraid.

It's not that my dreams've crumbled
I can't unsee what I've already seen
I had delusions, now I have realized
Finally sure, blue ain't the new green.
